The Details

What To Expect

We'll open with an inspirational meditation for writers. I'll offer a brief teaching piece, using examples to illustrate the theme of the day.

We'll dig into various writing exercises to get our creative juices flowing. Time for sharing (if desired). Feedback (if desired) will be based on the listener's personal experience of the writing (called Appreciative Inquiry), and not on critique.

These workshops are for you if stress-free, non-insistent, and fun are adjectives that speak to you.

A Bevy of Workshops FROM which to Choose

Workshops will be online (or, if you’re local, come in person - there will be tea!) Each workshop is $48 for 60 - 90 minutes.

CREATING COMPELLING CHARACTERS

“Every character should want something, even if it is only a glass of water.” ~ Kurt Vonnegut

DYNAMIC DIALOGUE

"A line of dialogue is not clear enough if you need to explain how it's said.” ~ Elmore Leonard

WRITING FROM MEMORY

“A curious mind probing for truth may well set your scribbling ass free.” ~ Mary Karr

BLOG WRITING

“Blogging is to writing what extreme sports are to athletics: more free-form, more accident-prone, less formal, more alive. It is, in many ways, writing out loud.” – Andrew Sullivan

PERILS AND PEARLS OF PARENTING

“Perhaps it takes courage to raise children..” ~ John Steinbeck

SENSORY WRITING

"The slivered moon sat in the sky like an old fingernail clipping." ~ Unknown

This'll be fun!
